Wendy Morton Academy offer examinations with the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA). Examinations and Medal Tests are available in Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Modelling. BTDA offer exams from Preparatory to Professional Development level, many of which are accredited and regulated by the Graded Qualifications Alliance (GQAL). Higher graded exams are also eligible to be added to UCAS points (point values can be found below).

For our younger students, we offer Mime Awards and Rose Awards as an introduction to the examination process:
Silver & Gold Mime Awards
​
The Silver & Gold Mime awards are available to our Baby Class students, to achieve a Mime Award, children will be entered for an examination at the studio, where they perform 4 or 6 short mimes with one of the teachers for the examiner.
Graded Examination - Pin Badges
​
For all graded examinations from Preparatory to Grade 5, pin badges are available to be purchased as a record of achievement. These can be ordered from the studio upon successful completion of the relevant examination.
Silver & Gold Rose Awards
​
Rose Awards are for our younger students who are preparing for the lower graded examinations. We offer Rose Awards in Acrobatics, Classical Ballet and Tap. To achieve a Rose Award, children will be entered for an examination at the studio, where they will complete a few short set exercises with one of the teachers for the examiner.
Silver Triple Award
​
Students who successfully complete 3 BTDA Preparatory examinations in a 2 year period and are under 9 years of age are eligible to claim their Silver Triple Award. To claim, please complete a form available from the studio.
Gold Triple Award
​
Students who successfully complete 3 BTDA Primary examinations in a 2 year period and are under 11 years of age are eligible to claim their Gold Triple Award. To claim, please complete a form available from the studio.
Grade 5 Award
​
Students who successfully complete 3 BTDA Grade 5 examinations in a 12 month period are eligible to claim their Grade 5 Award. To claim, please complete a form available from the studio.
Graded Examinations

Graded examinations completed with BTDA are accredited and regulated by GQAL. The equivalent levels for BTDA exams are shown in this table:
Medal Tests
​
Wendy Morton Academy also offer performance medal tests via BTDA. Medal tests are currently available in Singing, Disco/Street Jazz and Modelling. The medal tests are a performance award system, which are performed in front of a BTDA examiner and an audience and available in the following levels;
