Melissa Smith

After an amazing 11years full of shows and dance competitions at Wendy Morton Academy of Dance I gained a scholarship at one of the UK’s leading training colleges, SLP in Leeds. Here I completed the 3year national Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre. Throughout my time at the academy Miss Wendy and Miss Laura both helped me significantly in all genres of dance as well my performance skills giving me the knowledge and experience I needed to go on to full time training. I was also given a great deal of extra help when preparing for all my auditions, from both of them which I am extremely grateful for as I know without that I wouldn’t be where I am now. After graduating from SLP College I gained a London Acting Agent whose clients have worked in a variety of things such as Hollyoaks, TV Adverts and Musical Theatre shows. I am now currently on a 6 month dance contract in India where I could get to travel to different places such as Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong working on Bollywood films, shows and major film awards. I loved my time at the Academy and even though I still miss being part of the WMA team, I am looking forward to what’s next in my career!

Jemma Hill

I am so proud to have come from WMA, Miss Wendy is not just a fantastic teacher but a great friend. Teaching me the tools of the industry, I would not be where I am today without the help of WMA.

I have had a fantastic 8 years in the land of showbiz. Traveling all over the world doing a job I love. After leaving WMA I gained my first contract aged 17, as a dancer in a local circus. This lead to a 2 year seasonal job in Lapland. Then I had a 6 month contract in Cyprus. After this came a contract in Holland with the circus festival Eschede. Later that year I had a 7 month contract in Mexico as a dancer in a hotel in the Riviera Maya. Where I gained the lead dance roles and solos. After returning home 2 months later I jetted off to the other side of Mexico to Manzanillo. This is where I was principle dancer and assistant choreographer. Working on my own routines for the show team. This was an amazing opportunity as we got to travel in carnivals in Mexico and Brazil. We also did a live TV performance with one of my routines aired.

My next job was in Mallorca as principle dancer for Cosmo holidays. Followed by 6 month contract in England as choreographer and principle dancer for Richardson's Holidays.

Not only have I had such a amazing time traveling with my dancing, but have had a great time modeling too. After many catwalks and photoshoots and charity events. I have had the honor of being the cover girl of 2 wedding Magazines and the face of occasion hair for GHD hair.

I am now looking forward to my next adventure on the stage.

Thanks to the love and support of my family, friends and Miss Wendy, this has all been possible.

Dreams really do come true.

Lucinda Wood

I started at WMA as a hobby, and what better way than to get to dance on stage in silver trousers to S Club 'Reach for the Stars'. Little did I know I really would be reaching for them! Year after year I joined yet another fantastic class. I had so much fun over the years and grew so close to the friends I made there. Miss Wendy and Miss Laura are truly incredible at what they do! They encouraged my love for dance to grow and make me want to have a career in dancing and performing. I went to Phil Winston's Theatre works to further my training for three years.  Along side my training I was lucky enough to gain a place as a  paid dancer in 'High Jinx Magic Show' in Blackpool. And I am now excited to start dancing at Thoresby Hall Warner Hotel. Without all the help, support and inspiration I could never have succeeded and for this I am so grateful. I love the family of WMA!!
